The Photo Journey & Way Forward Book Release
17 August 2019

"The Journey Along Road Less Traveled" released by Joy Karayamupuram SJ & Danielle Vella

On July 17, JRS South Asia  released “ The Journey Along Road Less Traveled” a photo journey book of JRS – Jesuit Mission outreach in Afghanistan and “Envisioning The Journey Ahead: Key Finding & The Way Forward” a booklet on the prospective way forward that could be adopted by JRS Afghanistan on its journey ahead.

JRS in association with Indian Social Institute conducted the Impact Assessment of Jesuit Mission outreach in Afghanistan since 2005 till 2017. Paul Dsouza SJ, HoD Dalit Studies conducted the impact study and brought out the key findings and a way forward. Drawing from the Impact Assessment report, a series of handbooks have been brought out. “ JRS Afghanistan Frontier Mission: The journey thus far and the Road Ahead” a condensed form of the Impact Assessment report and “Testimonies of Hope” presenting the impact of JRS interventions, through personal and institutional case studies are two other documents in the final lap for its publication too.

The event served as the best opportunity to express gratitude to Stan Fernandes SJ,  as he handed his responsibility as JRS SA Regional Director to continue his responsibility as JRS Afghanistan Country Director.
